Important Information
- To explore some places in the interior of the traditional villages through the villager’s footpath. It maybe muddy, puddles and crossing wooden bridges. Prepare yourself for all possibilities that may occur.

Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival In Wamena – Explore North Of Baliem Valley (-/L/-)
Upon arrival at Wamena airport transfer to Baliem Pilamo Hotel. We begin our tour to Kumugima in direction to the northern part of the Baliem Valley. Few kilometers from Town by drive to Aikima & Kumugima village to explore the Local traditional people of baliem valley. Along the way you will find the Danis working in their sweet potatoes fields and will see their daily activities and learn about their way of life in Suroba. Walk through the pine forest, enjoy the beautiful nature setting and crossing a bridge over Aike river before you arrive at the main road where the car is waiting for you. We will hike in 1-2 hours through the beautiful countryside and traditional houses of Dani people. Continue to Sumpaima, In Sumpaima village we will see a very old mummy of the famous Dugum clan is proudly presented for your viewing. In the vicinity we will see more picturesque hamlets. Everywhere the friendly natives offer their arts and crafts, weapons and curiosities for our inspection. Stop in the traditional local market & Napua, Late afternoon drive back to the Hotel, Dinner will be on your account. Accommodation in the hotel (Walk approx. 1-2 hours).
Day 02: Wamena – Hesegem Hills – Kilise (B/L/D)
Breakfast, then drive in 50 minutes to Yetni river, it is a terminal in the south of baliem valley. Starting point of the trekking to Kurima, sub District of the tribe on level terrain then continue climbing the Hesegem hill on the direction of Kilise. Along the trails, you will meet local people in their activities and yet the scenery is very beautiful around. Lunch served en-route. Afternoon you may explore the traditional villages and learn about the people way of life. Accommodation at Local houses or Guest House in this village using sleeping bags and mattresses. (Walk approx. 4-5 hours).
Day 03: Trekking To Wamarek (B/L/D)
After breakfast, proceed to Wamerek village by passing Ibiroma village. Today’s walk is a little harder with narrow and slippery paths up down of the hills with about 1.800 meters of elevation. But you may also enjoying the nature’s beauty, and along the trail you will meet local people with friendly smile in their traditional clothes. Lunch will be ser at the edge of Tangma river and you can clean your body while the cook preparing the food. After lunch we continue to Wamerek within 30 minutes, dinner and Accommodation at Local houses, Guest House or School in this village using sleeping bags and mattress (Walk approx. 5hours).
Day 04: Trekking To Wasegalep (B/L/D)
The next morning after breakfast continue trekking to Wesagalep village for about 6 hours. You are proceeding to cross a hanging bridge over Baliem river, to cross this bridge you have to pay more attention as the bridge may sway due to the force of the wind. Lunch will be served at a small waterfall and you may refresh yourself in the water. The way to Wesagalep village from the river is going up the hill and you again can see the gorgeous scenery from the other side. Dinner will be prepared by our cook and Accommodation at Local houses, Guest House or School in this village using sleeping bags and mattresses. (Walk approx. 6-7 hours).
Day 05: Trekking To Wuserem (B/L/D)
Leaving Wesagalep village in the morning after breakfast, we will trek up hill in 30 minutes, and when you arrive at the top of hill, we walk through the Dani sweet potatoes gardens, after we are going to enter a small rain forest with a sponge of mosses, no one live permanently in this forest. Lunch will have at the river, and then proceed to Userem village on the regular path. Dinner will be prepared by our cook. Accommodation at Local houses or Guest House in this village using sleeping bags and mattresses. (Walk approx. 6-7hours).
Day 06: Trekking To Yetni River - Wamena (B/L/-)
The last day we trek, after breakfast from Wuserem village in the southern of Baliem Valley gorge, we hike 4-5 hours to Kurima. The still traditional Dani village are very close and can be briefly explore during the hike to Kurima. The local people life and traditional remain unchanged here, and the sophisticate agriculture system has been practiced along time ago. Lunch will be served in the river bank. Arrive in Kurima in the afternoon then continue walking to Yetni river where our car waiting us in the terminal. We drive 1 hour to the the town of Wamena with all our cook & porters. Dinner will be on your account. Acc: Baliem Pilamo Hotel or Similar (Walk approx. 5-6 hours)
Day 07: Wamena - By Flight To Jayapura - Foot of Mt. Cyclop (B/L/D)
Breakfast and transfer to the Airport for fly return to Jayapura, arrive in Jayapura proceed by car drive to foot Mt Cyclop in 2 hours – The scenery during the trip and not boring you. Lunch is served enroute or provided by local people in the villages. Late afternoon around 16:00 PM walking into the forest to explore the jungle flora and fauna in the foot of Mt Cyclop. Here we will visit the bird of paradise habitat, walking about 40 minutes from where we stay. Usually some types of endemic birds stay long and breed here. depends on the weather when we visit. Dinner is served by Local people and accommodation at simple guest house on the edge of the forest.
Day 08: Foot of Mt. Cyclop - Airport of Jayapura - Departure (B/-/-)
Depending on the flight you have, before breakfast around 5 o’clock in the morning hiking in different directions to see birds of paradise or other bird birds while exploring the rainforest. Return to the Accommodation and enjoy the breakfast provided. By car, we will return to the city for approximately 3 hours and straight to Jayapura airport for the next departure.
